Whistling Swan 15th Anniversary Celebration
Larry and Carol Emerick, special guests
Larry and Carol own and operate Chapel Road Homestead, an antiques shop in an 1830’s farmhouse in the rolling hills of the NC Piedmont. They love and specialize in 18th and 19th century American antiques in original condition. They have a deep appreciation for anything old from antiques to houses to wood boards, and have been in the business for over thirty years. Larry is a restorer of period furniture, primitives and wicker. He also creates authentic reproductions using old wood, old glass and in the early style. From furniture to courting mirrors, by hand he gives each piece a “warm look” of old paint and time-worn patina. Throughout his military and corporate careers, Larry has always been absorbed with antiques and woodworking. He and Carol opened their first shop, Green Lane Mercantile, in Green Lane, Pa. in 1985. Larry has taught courses on antique clocks, having restored many over the years. Currently he is teaching classes on antiques for Stanly Community College. He serves as Vice President of Stanly County Area Antique Dealers Association. The Emericks live among their antiques at Chapel Road Homestead which opened in 1987. They raised three children in this peaceful setting.
